Visual Abilities Assessments
Motion sickness? Light Sensitivity? Losing track of your place while reading? Double vision? Difficulty with balance?
Imagine finding a solution to why you are experiencing the symptoms you have, without “just hoping it will go away on it’s own.”
During your assessment with Dr. Corriveau, she will help you find and understand the underlying visual causes to your symptoms. She will then outline her suggestions to best address these areas so that you can get back to feeling comfortable and confident with your vision.
Vision Therapy Programs
Looking to take an active role in addressing your visual symptoms? Our vision therapy programs are just for you.
We offer individualized, one-on-one vision therapy programs that take into account both the diagnoses from your assessment and (more importantly) your goals, so that we can help you get back to feeling comfortable and confident with your vision.
Similar to a physiotherapy session, your vision therapist will provide you with some home exercises that will allow you to continue to further integrate your visual skills between appointments.
FAQs

That depends on the type of insurance.
OHIP: our assessments are not covered by OHIP. However, for those that are OHIP-eligible, progress reviews during your vision therapy program are covered.
Extended Health Care Benefits: most benefits packages cover 1 eye exam every 1-2 years (check your policy), so you may be able to get some coverage from your benefits provider.
Car insurance: if you have been involved in a car accident and have filed an injury claim, you may be eligible for coverage through your car insurance. Typically your injuries would need to be deemed outside of the Minor Injury Guidelines in order to be eligible for coverage. An OCF-18 will be drafted and sent to your insurance adjuster for approval.
WSIB: if you have been involved in a workplace accident and have a WSIB claim, you may be eligible for coverage. Our services do not fall within WSIB’s typical Programs of Care, so you would require a specialty referral out to us from your WSIB Nurse Consultant.

Extended Health Care Benefits: this would depend on your policy. We are happy to provide you with a Pre-Determination of Benefits letter that you can supply your provider to determine if you are eligible for any coverage.
Car Insurance: if your injuries have been deemed outside of the Minor Injury Guidelines, you may be eligible for coverage. We would have to submit an OCF-18 to your insurance adjuster first to find out.
WSIB: you may be eligible for coverage, pending approval from your WSIB Nurse Consultant.
